HTI Conference Centre has amazing artwork

Students from The Oldham Academy North provide artwork for our Conference Centre display HTI Conference Centre has amazing artwork on display from students at The Oldham Academy North in Oldham Lancashire . We would like to say a big thank you to Elaine Cooke and the students for kindly donating their work.

The artwork features portraits by year 10 and 11 BTEC art pupils, who were given a brief to paint a self-portrait or choose any member of staff in the academy as their focus. Pupils looked at a range of artists from early 20th Century until modern day. When they found an artist they liked, the imagery was used either for the main pose of the work or for the background. The work was produced in acrylic paint on calico stretched on a board

The portraits exhibited here include the Principal, the Head of Art, canteen staff and support staff. An exhibition of the work was displayed in the Gallery at The Oldham Academy North. 

For anyone who would like to see the display in reception please feel free to drop into the conference centre. 

We would love to hear from other schools, both primary and secondary, who would like to showcase their art.
