Champions & Challengers

These are a group of students chosen especially by sports staff for excellent behaviour and correct kit every lesson. At the end of every term, the students are taken on a reward trip for their efforts and this term went bushcraft crazy in the woods near Cholmondley Castle in Cheshire.

When we arrived, we split into four tribes with the challenge of setting up our own camps, including camp fire and shelter. After lots of stick collecting and hard work, each tribe started to cook their lunch of trout (eyes and all!), sweet potatoes and corn. As the day came to an end, we recapped our new knowledge of survival skills including how to keep safe, keep warm and how to cope when there are no flushing toilets!
